It’s okay to get a little Grey this season. While black is a go to color during October due to Halloween,  Grey is a color that is a bit harder to describe in how it fits into our wardrobe. I can go wearing grey all year around but it’s best suited for the cold months. The look of grey is something that gives the feel of something more modern when in comparison to the classic look that black and white outfits gives off. You can always throw on your favorite heathered sweater or grey sweater dress and still look chic while also giving the air of not trying too hard.

LIP SERVICE

I don’t know if you are anything like me but sometimes certain lipsticks inspire my outfit instead of vice-versa. There have been multiple occasions when I  buy a new lipstick and think “what can I wear with this?” it’s almost as a lip color is an extra accessory in our wardrobe. Below check out some lip service inspiration with help from a few of our favorite fall styles.

 

There is nothing better than a lady in red and when we spotted this Colour Pop Lippe Stick in the color “Bossy”  we knew we wanted to pair it with our Chiffon Sequined Gown. It pairs beautifully with this elegant dress for that special night out.

 

We are loving this Kat Von D’s Liquid Lipstick in the color “Lolita.” This color is definitely the “Kylie Jenner” lip that everyone has been talking about and here we paired it with our bohemian inspired Campfire Cardigan. This is a perfect color to compliment the simplicity of this outfit.

 

We went a little vampy in this one. We were loving the look of this deep cranberry Solid Chic Blouse, styled her with the hat and some casual jeans. We wanted to compliment it with a very deep red/burgundy color to add to the look. We found what we were looking for with NYX’s PURE VAMP in the color aphrodisiac.

CALIFORNIA IN THE FALL

While the rest of the country is experiencing a nice cold chill with the beginning of the Fall/Holiday season, here at the Yetts offices we are still in the middle of a heat wave. California has a reputation of being 75 and sunny which is wonderful except for when it’s not suppose to be. We love cold weather just as much as the rest of the country as we are currently waiting to bust out our boots and coats. No worries you can still wear some of your favorite fall accessories while staying cool in this heat. FALL TRENDS 2014 II ON THE RADAR

Steer away from your usual dark solid colors this fall and try a patterned dress. Whether it’s a tunic, a midi, or a maxi we love the idea of combating the cold with a little color. You can play it safe by wearing neutral colors or  you can go a little wild and try abstract prints. This is definitely a trend to try out during the holiday festivities.

Celebrities like Olivia Palermo, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Cara Delevingne have been spotted wearing the monogrammed Burberry Prorsum scarf sweater. Not only do we love this sweater/poncho/blanket concoction we love the trend that it inspired. Nothing is better than wearing something that is not only comfortable but also fashionable and these seasons poncho’s make you feel like you are walking around in the most fashionable blankets.

Every fall this is a go to trend,mostly because plaid is almost only acceptable during the Fall and Spring. We must take the opportunity to welcome this trend every year and deck ourselves out in easy wearable plaid. Whether you prefer to just have hints of plaid as in a tartan scarf or flannel or an all over print as in a plaid dress or pants this trend spells out fall and we love it.

Now this ever controversial fabric (is it classified as a fabric?) can be worn faux or real if you are into that sort of thing. I prefer to keep it faux but also keep it loud. If that’s not your thing you can go for hints of fur on glove trims or hats. I’m currently enjoying all the puffy fur jackets and vest that we see popping up around this time of year. The greatest thing about fur (faux or not) is that it never goes out of style.

 

 

 

TEEN FASHION INSPIRATION: SOFIA RICHIE

 

You might be more familiar with her older sister and famous father but Sofia Richie is making a name for herself. In the world of fashion she has been featured in many prominent fashion magazines and even had her own spread in the ever influential Who What Wear. This 16 year old Cali native might be best friend with the Jenner sisters but she has a style all her own. Yes she is still a teen but her her closet shows that she is part teen part sophisticated socialite. Sofia is rarely seen without a pair of heeled booties, changing the tone her outfits. She is a huge fan of trousers but still loves to show midriff. Definitely the perfect juxtaposition of teenager and fashionista. It is rumored that she is following in the footsteps of her father and releasing some music in the future. I’m sure finishing high school is next on her list but whatever she does I’m sure she will remain cool and collected while doing so.

With Gilmore Girls making it’s debut on Netflix tomorrow we thought it would be fun to delve into the world of Rory Gilmore. During the run of the show you could usually find Rory’s nose in a book or looking for a good cup of coffee, as she was half of the dynamic duo that was the Gilmore Girls.  She was not only smart and strong willed she also had a great fashion sense that was part prep academy part soft grunge. Alexis Bledel’s beautiful timeless face made it easy for her character to be believable in any situations, I mean we could all understand why she would choose Jess over Dean right? Her love of reading, determination to go to Harvard, and need for junk food made her that much more love-able. Here are a few of our Gilmore approved items.

New York Fashion Week: It’s all happening

 

New York Fashion Week just started but already designers are re-inventing Spring style. From peaches to grays the color spectrum on the runway is not what usually comes to mind when speaking of Spring. Though it’s too early to tell all the trends coming out of NY this week already we are seeing a good amount of sash tie robes, tops, and dresses. Also white sheer skirts seem to be popping up a lot, along with high front slits. If this first batch is any indication we have a lot of good things coming to us in the Spring. In the early 90’s morning television was changed with the addition of a new teen TV show centered around 6 kids in high school. Besides the huge crush that the world ended up having on Zack (Mark Paul Gosslear) another highlight of the series was Kelly Kapowski, Zack’s cool, fashionable, sweet love interest. Yeah I loved the Zack and Kelly love story just as much as the next tween but what I really loved to see every week was Kelly’s cool outfits. From floral dresses to cropped tops she always seemed to look perfect while still maintaining a casual girl next door feel.
