When we think about Fall we mostly concentrate on sweaters, but who doesn’t love a great fall skirt? Whether it’s plaid, circle or asymmetric we hear them calling our name; allowing us to showcase our favorite pair of boots that we’ve been waiting to bust out all year long. Technically any skirt can be a fall skirt when paired with tights but what really makes it a fall skirt is the pattern, the color, or the fabric. We love the look of a short circle skirt with a tall riding boot. The juxtaposition makes you look like you are about to run into a field of leaves. Two piece sets have been popping up everywhere this year. Remember when fashion experts advised you to not keep things so matchy-matchy? Well throw that out the window since this trend seems to be taking flight all the way through autumn. There is something very retro and uniform about two piece sets that we love. Taylor Swift has been rocking two piece sets all summer long as well as other celebrities like Karlie Kloss and Sarah Jessica Parker. If it’s good enough for Carrie herself it’s good enough for us. Who doesn’t love a good midi skirt? This fall we have stocked up on new prints and fabrics of the must have length. Yes  we know that your initial reaction to fall is to cuddle up in a big cozy sweater with jeans but what about a skirt instead? With Gilmore Girls making it’s debut on Netflix tomorrow we thought it would be fun to delve into the world of Rory Gilmore. During the run of the show you could usually find Rory’s nose in a book or looking for a good cup of coffee, as she was half of the dynamic duo that was the Gilmore Girls.  She was not only smart and strong willed she also had a great fashion sense that was part prep academy part soft grunge. Alexis Bledel’s beautiful timeless face made it easy for her character to be believable in any situations, I mean we could all understand why she would choose Jess over Dean right? DIFFERENCE OF A HEMLINE

Hemlines are no longer confined to mini’s midi’s and maxi’s. Try something a little different and pick up an irregular skirt. Whether you like a mesh hemline or asymmetric these skirts add a dash of “interesting” to any wardrobe. You can be sexy with a high slit in the asymmetric skirt. It has the best of both a mini and a maxi for those who can’t decide. Mesh trimmed skirts are also fun as they can add to the illusion of showing more but still keeping it classy. New York Fashion Week: It’s all happening

 

New York Fashion Week just started but already designers are re-inventing Spring style. From peaches to grays the color spectrum on the runway is not what usually comes to mind when speaking of Spring. Though it’s too early to tell all the trends coming out of NY this week already we are seeing a good amount of sash tie robes, tops, and dresses. Also white sheer skirts seem to be popping up a lot, along with high front slits. If this first batch is any indication we have a lot of good things coming to us in the Spring. In the early 90’s morning television was changed with the addition of a new teen TV show centered around 6 kids in high school. Besides the huge crush that the world ended up having on Zack (Mark Paul Gosslear) another highlight of the series was Kelly Kapowski, Zack’s cool, fashionable, sweet love interest. Yeah I loved the Zack and Kelly love story just as much as the next tween but what I really loved to see every week was Kelly’s cool outfits. From floral dresses to cropped tops she always seemed to look perfect while still maintaining a casual girl next door feel.
